Welcome to the Barony of Arn Hold, the Boise, Idaho Chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism

Situated on the western edge of the Kingdom of Artemisia, the Barony of Arn Hold's main activities occur primarily in and around Boise and the surrounding Treasure Valley, extending east to Glenns Ferry, north to McCall, and south and west to the Idaho state line.

The Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) is an international organization with over 30,000 members in 19 different kingdoms, dedicated to researching and recreating pre-17th century European history. Membership is open to all who are interested in the Middle Ages. The SCA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational organization under U.S. law.

As a collective group, the Kingdom of Artemisia regularly sponsors medieval-oriented events throughout southern Idaho, most of Utah, Montana, and the parts of Colorado and Wyoming that are west of the Continental Divide. Local activities also include regular gatherings in which our members practice and enjoy the various medieval activities that interest them.

The Chatelaine is the officer in charge of helping newcomers get started in the SCA. If you have questions please contact the Chatelaine through the Officers page. Here is her letter Welcome to the SCA and a Newcomers page to help you get started. You can also view this video for a taste of The Dream.
